I use a Client focused approach to identify symptoms to address as well as the most impactful interventions. I work with various types of trauma including relational and medical. I specialize in  anxiety, trauma, Parenting concerns, attachment issues, and stress reduction.

Trauma and PTSD - EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is unlike traditional talk therapy and has shown benefits for those who may have tried talk therapy for years with little relief from their symptoms. It uses bilateral stimulation to allow Clients to process through traumas and past experiences. Bilateral stimulation occurs when both sides of the brain are being activated during processing.

Supervision and Consultation

I have been Supervising Clinicians varying from Interns, new Graduates and experienced Clinicians for over 5 years. I have a passion for working with other Mental Health Practitioners as a Teacher, Coach, and Supporter. I offer LCSW Supervision for Social Workers working towards Licensure. I also offer Consultation for Mental Health Providers in various settings including schools, hospitals, or corporate environments.

What it EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is unlike traditional talk therapy and has shown benefits for those who may have tried talk therapy for years with little relief from their symptoms. It uses bilateral stimulation to allow Clients to process through traumas and past experiences. Bilateral stimulation occurs when both sides of the brain are being activated during processing. This can be tactile through tapping or holding buzzers. It can be visual by following a light on a lightbar or following a Clinician’s fingers. It can also be auditory by listening to beeps alternating between one ear and the other. Often individuals find they have a preference for what they  are most comfortable with. The bilateral stimulation allows you to process an experience using both sides of your brain. It is believed that traumatic experiences leading to negative self beliefs and triggers are stored in the more emotional right hemisphere, and bilateral stimulation allows processing to include the left hemisphere or more logical side of the brain, allowing emotions and reactions related to the event(s) to become less distressing.
